In late August, we took six influencers on a whirlwind 24-hour trip to Ibiza to see Kygo at one of his residency headline sets at Ushuaia.
We used Influencer Intelligence –a tool licensed by some of the Sony labels, to pick the influencers based on the quality of their content, their engagement rates and whether their audience aligned with Kygo fans or potential fans.
The goals of the trip were to promote the track‘Born To Be Yours’, further establish Kygo as a hitmaker by pushing people to his owned Spotify and Apple Music Essentials playlists, and to establish an on-going relationships with the best performing influencers.
They were flown out, had a night’s accommodation, were taken for lunch, given entrance to Ushuaia for the night and got a meet and greet with Kygo. In return, they were simply asked to document their experiences, whilst regularly driving to the playlist and track.
The trip was a success, with nearly 4m content impressions from a total of 60 posts over the weekend, delivering a 175% ROI when compared with traditional digital media spend.
