In 2014, 5 Seconds Of Summer launched two retro games, Hungry 5SOS and Road To Derp Con, created eye-popping 3D GIFs and hosted their very own fan convention (Derp Con) in Los Angeles for competition winners from all over the world. All of which helped make the band one of the biggest breakthrough artists of the year and hit #1 with their debut album in over 70 countries.

• 1m plays, 250k mentions of #5SOSNinjas and 40k purchase clickthroughs in the first 24 hours of Road To Derp Con launching.
• 500k fans entered competitions to attend Derp Con .
Throughout the campaign, we learned that the key to exciting the band’s fanbase was to keep everything as organic, fresh and fun as possible across all platforms. Innovation and technology was used to enhance this organic approach but was not the primary focus.
