As part of our campaign to promote Judas Priest’s new album, Firepower, we used the band’s iconic logo to deliver a simple mechanic that their fanbase could personalise and easily distribute.
As well as using the album art as a reference, we wanted the shared visuals to stand out in the fan’s social feeds, so we cranked the visuals up by including animated fire and rendered the text in 3D.
It was vital for us to make each user’s graphic easy to share and so the download function was very straightforward for users on desktop and mobile. We ensured that once fans shared their personalised visual that they would get their own unique URL to link back to the site. The reception to the name generator was above and beyond what we had hoped –with fans, and also magazines and rock metal bars from around the globe, using the generator and then sharing their creations with their online followers.
The album charted at #5, making it the band’s first top 10 album since 1980
